I love birds, and I really enjoyed sewing these, inspired by the tutorial here. I would still like to make them into a mobile, but haven't found appropriate bendy sticks yet. They're a nice simple handsewing project if you want a little something to keep you busy while you're watching telly...it helps alleviate that feeling of "time-wasting" we Mums get when we're not "getting something done."
To my chagrin, my children don't really go in for soft toys, even though I would relish the opportunity to sew them all sorts of cute softies. But these have been surprisingly popular, perhaps because they fit so nicely into a child's hand, or a real birds' nest.

Speaking of telly, I am currently loving: The Beautiful People, So You Think You Can Dance and Tess of the D'Urbervilles. You watching anything good?

ReplyDeleteHi Catherine
ReplyDeleteThese birds are just the cutest - what a fun project. I iron while I watch TV for exactly the reasons you said - so I don't feel lazy.
I hope you find a way to make these into a mobile - that would be just the cutest!
Have a great day
Renata :)
