Help!

Lord, I have my days when I need to muster up all my patience to cope with Blogger. I just had a little look at the new Dynamic Views, then I stupidly clicked on one. I don't like it and I want it to go back to how it used to be but I don't know how! Can anyone clever help me?? Please? xx

Spring Help for the Birds

We're very lucky to have lots of cute tiny Silvereye Finches in our garden. We thought we'd give them a little bit of softness to cosy up their nests this Spring.

Magic Wands

How to Make Some Easy Magic Wands.

  1. Pack a basket with craft glue, nice wool or yarn and glitter.

2. Walk to the park and collect some friends along the way.

3. Each child collects a stick and a feather.

4. Spread some glue over one end of the stick. Hold the feather at the glued end of the stick and wrap the yarn tightly around it to secure. Wrap the yarn a bit of the way down the stick.

5. Add more glue and sprinkle liberally with glitter.

Then play!

Run, Kees! Run from the wand-wielding wizard!

An Apple for the Teacher

While the other lovely ladies were off for a walk and the naughty baby was hitting the good baby on the head with a shovel,
I enjoyed the neatness of eating an apple while wearing my new apple skirt from the op shop.

One dollar! What a score. Even though it gave me nerve pain because it's so tight around the waist. (It just kind of disappears into my middle, like a sort of quick sand, or a soft abyss.) I just loved it so much that I wore it two days in row, and it must have interrupted my neural synapses. One day at a time from now on.

Alma Park Zoo

On the Ekka Wednesday, Matt had the day off, so we enjoyed a very pleasant morning at Alma Park Zoo. The kids loved it, especially feeding these cute kangaroos.

Kees found one with a joey - hang on a minute, that's not a joey! What is that??
Here's the joey. He was so lovely. He was amazingly flexible!
And very friendly.

Thanks, Ben and Sally, that was a great Christmas gift.

Silly

Just a few of the many, many, many silly things that go on around here. Whipped cream, anyone?

Naked jumping on the trampoline, first thing on a chilly morning? No?

Everyone enjoys dressing up though, right?

And this really brought back good memories for me. I remember doing this with David and Ben, in front of the mirror, with tears of laughter streaming down our faces. I think it was one of the funniest times we ever had.

The only trouble is, it really hurts when you have to pull the sticky-tape off!

Light

In Spring and Autumn, we get a beautiful afternoon light in our house, as the sun goes down between a gap in the trees. It bathes the room in a surreal golden glow; a special, fleeting moment of light each afternoon.

Then it's over, as the sun hurries down behind the mango tree to start someone else's day on the other side of our planet. Maybe you, Stacey ;0)
Going...going...

Gone.

I love dusk. Not only is it beautiful, peaceful and a magical breath between day and night, it also means my work for the day is nearly over! It's mostly fun stuff in the evening: yummy dinner, bath, books, cuddles, boobies, songs and blessed bedtime. Then a little bit of my time! xx

Where I Live

It was a beautiful day today.

We've been out and about pursuing some letter B activities: bike-riding, the beach, bocce, body parts, beading bracelets, ball games, eating "bisketti" bolognaise, burgers, bouncing, baking bread and biscuits, breakdancing .... the possibilities are endless! Lots of B words.

It's Beginning to Feel a Lot Like ...

Spring time!

A very happy Spring to you!
