Volcano!

We did this science experiment a long time ago, when we were learning about the beginning of the Earth, but I wanted to document it and share with you. The volcano we made was this one. It was easy and lots of fun. I mean boys, explosions, "lava"... pretty hard to go wrong!

Knead the dough and shape your volcano...

Go outside (highly recommended!) and pour in the vinegar...

Yeehah!

Great fun. And afterwards, the kids played for ages with all the sloppy leftover mess. And then I left the mess for such a long time that Matt got sick of it and cleaned it up. So, all in all, a winner ;0)

Hamburger Salad

My very resourceful friend, Natalie, came up with this Paleo Diet solution to fix a hamburger craving. It's a hamburger without the bun and it really is deeelicious. It's our favourite meal at the moment.

This is what we put in, in layers:

2 chopped baby cos lettuces

2 sliced tomatoes

1 sliced cucumber

1 medium tin of sliced beetroot

1 cup of bread and butter pickles

a handful of thinly sliced cheddar cheese (optional)

2 packets of Woolworths Macro Organic frozen meatballs, heated (YUMMY)

1 large onion, thinly sliced and fried

squirts of tomato sauce, mustard and olive oil

and salt and pepper if you like

The Show!

The Redcliffe Show is truly one of the highlights of our year. The kids save up their pocket money (and so do the parents!) and eagerly await an evening of fun, excitement and wonder. And junk food!
